Subject: Prestage Department of Poultry Science Head Search

The Prestage Department of Poultry Science is seeking an innovative leader
with a vision to guide our dynamic multidisciplinary department as we develop
science-based solutions for the poultry industry of today and generations to
come. The Department Head must have a track record of leadership, effective
management skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to foster
a diverse, welcoming, and inclusive environment. The Head will play a key
role in developing and implementing a vision for the department through
recruitment and development of diverse faculty, staff, and students.

Additionally, the Head will serve as a strong advocate for the Department
both within NC State and with external stakeholders, including organizing and
leading efforts relative to departmental fundraising and enhancing allied
industry and alumni relations.

The Head will also play a key leadership role in the NC State Food Animal
Initiative. The Food Animal Initiative is an interdisciplinary, intercollege
program designed to ensure that the state of North Carolina is the world
leader in food-animal sciences. The program is led by CALS and the College
of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) with support from the University, the state, and
industry.
