  Dear FAANG membership,
There is an effort in the US to update the USDA “Blueprint for USDA Efforts
in Agricultural Animal Genomics 2008–2017”, a document that has guided USDA
efforts in animal genomics over the last few years. A group is meeting Nov
15-16 in Bethesda MD to discuss this revision, and we request input from
FAANG members. The Blueprint as well as the current working document that
can be found at https://www.faang.org/docs/db/84.pdf and
  https://www.faang.org/docs/db/84.docx
Dr. Rexroad indicated that the purpose of this Workshop is: "This is an
effort to update the previous report developed by the animal genomics
community under the leadership of Dr. Ronnie Green (USDA-ARS) and Dr.
Muquarrab Qureshi (USDA NIFA) titled "Blueprint for USDA Efforts in
Agricultural Animal Genomics 2008 – 2017". Over the last decade the
vision outlined in this document has served to guide intra- and extramural
research programs at USDA and in the broader international community. ARS
and NIFA would like to revisit the progress made and develop meaningful and
tangible goals for the next decade in developing the second generation
blueprint for the animal genomics community."

Please provide any comments to both Caird Rexroad (Caird.RexroadIIIARS.USDA.GOV) and myself by November 7 so they
can be summarized and included in the
  discussions in Bethesda.

Thanks and I look forward to your input!
  Chris
