To: Members of <faang@animalgenome.org>
Everyone,
I would highly encourage you to submit a paper to the Biology/Gene Discovery
section for WCGALP. Please encourage folks you know to submit as well.
Look forward to seeing many of you in New Zealand.

Dear James,
The purpose of this email is to stimulate you to encourage your colleagues
to submit papers for WCGALP and ICAR in Auckland next February.
The deadline for WCGALP, September 30th, is fast approaching.
1. If you know people who would make an excellent contribution please
encourage them to submit a paper in one of the following presentation formats:
a. Research contribution (in theatre)
b. Research contribution (by video screen - replacing the traditional paper
poster format)
c. Research contribution (no preference of theatre or video screen)
d. Pioneering contribution (in theatre)
e. Review contribution (in theatre)
2. We will shortly be releasing details of the conference App. We have
delayed the release to coincide with having a reasonable number of papers
available in the program. Delegates will initially be able to access the
App from their desks and for the conference on their mobile devices. Data
gathered through this App will inform our decisions on the final allocation
of papers to in theatre or by video screen. Papers that attract more
interest by registrants will get priority for theatre presentation over
papers that attract little interest.
3. We have formed a panel of reviewers based on the results of our survey.
These will be available to you to select from when you accept papers and
allocate them to reviewers. You will also be free to add other reviewers.
We will provide further details on this process shortly.
4. If you have a submission for which you are a co-author and it is appropriate
for the area/topic you are moderating, you can still "accept for review” but
when you send the paper to reviewers please state, in the comments section
for reviewers, that you have a conflict as you are a co-author. If you
believe you have a conflict in subsequently responding to reviewer comments
please let one of us know and we will pick it up.
If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to get back to either of
us.
Best regards
